Facebook Audio updates

Cast your mind back to 2010 – nobody could afford an iphone and Facebook was the new cool.
Millions of Aussies were stuck with a pre-paid brick which was neither sexy nor ‘smart’.
So how were these people to stay up to date with emerging social media whilst waved their glow sticks at a silent rave? (are they still a thing?)

Blurtl, that’s how. With a single call straight from a Telstra prepaid phone, customers could post voice recordings to their own wall but better still, direct to their friend’s wall too where people could play the recording back straight away.

A Facebook first, over 20,000 users downloaded the app at launch, it eventually got pre-loaded onto 178,000 Telstra handsets and ended up as a permanent service available to the entire customer base – if only I’d white-labeled it and kept it for myself!!!
